The Verdon Gorge, in south-eastern France, is a river canyon that is often considered to be one of Europe's most beautiful. It is a 25 kilometer (15 miles) long canyon and rises a spectacular 700 meters (2,300 feet) from the Verdon river below. Named for its startling turquoise-green colour, is one of the Gorge du Verdon’s most beautiful features. The water sports here include rafting, kayaking, sailing and water skiing. Also, Visitors can drive around its rim, rent kayaks to travel on the river, or hike.

Mont Saint Michel is a small tidal island located just off the coast of Normandy, France. It is located approximately one kilometre (0.6 miles) off the country's northwestern coast, at the mouth of the Couesnon River near Avranches. The island is best known as the site of the spectacular and well-preserved Norman Benedictine Abbey of St Michel at the peak of the rocky island, surrounded by the winding streets and convoluted architecture of the medieval town.
